Besonders die Schlussszene geht zu Herzen, wenn die jamaikanische Bob-Mannschaft nach einem technischen Defekt ihren Bob die letzten Meter auf den Schultern ins olympische Ziel schleppt, um das Rennen trotzdem zu Ende zu bringen – unter tosendem Applaus der Zuschauer. Miese Dialoge, miserable Schauspieler, l\u00e4cherlicher Plot – eigentlich ist Karate Tiger ein todsicherer Kandidat f\u00fcr den Titel \u201eSchlechtester Film aller Zeiten\u201c. Und w\u00e4re es nach allen Ma\u00dfst\u00e4ben des guten Geschmacks gegangen, h\u00e4tte Jean-Claude Van Dammes erste gro\u00dfe Filmrolle auch seine letzte sein m\u00fcssen…Dass es der Film trotz unfreiwilliger Komik und teilweise haarstr\u00e4ubender Sinnlosigkeit dennoch auf diese Liste geschafft hat, daf\u00fcr gibt es einen guten Grund: Die niederen Instinkte vom Autor dieses Artikels. Denn Karate Tiger bedient sich eines echten Klassikers psychologischer Filmmotive: Rache. Harmloser Junge und sein gutherziger Vater bekommen von skrupellosem Karate-Gangster (Van Damme) richtig die Hucke voll. Gepeinigter Junge wird daraufhin von einem metaphysischen Bruce Lee in die Kunst des Karate eingef\u00fchrt (obwohl der real eigentlich Kung Fu-K\u00e4mpfer war\u2026) und r\u00e4cht sich unter den Augen seines Vaters und seiner Freundin in einem epischen Kampf an seinem Peiniger. BAM!, schon ist man in den Top 5…<\/p>\n

Wahrscheinlich ber\u00fchmter als Muhammed Ali, Mike Tyson und Max Schmeling zusammen, geh\u00f6rt Rocky in jedes gut sortierte Filmregal eines jeden Sportfans. Die Story ist so einfach wie genial: Nobody ohne Perspektive schl\u00e4gt sich in einem wirtschaftlich heruntergekommenen Philadelphia der 70er Jahre mit Gelegenheitsjobs und niedrig dotierten Boxk\u00e4mpfen durchs Leben. Dann bekommt er aus heiterem Himmel die Chance, um die Box-Weltmeisterschaft im Schwergewicht zu k\u00e4mpfen \u2013 und scheitert nur denkbar knapp. Ein Musterbeispiel f\u00fcr Willen und K\u00e4mpferherz, das, ohne zu \u00fcbertreiben, wohl vielen Box-Profis von heute zur Inspiration der eigenen Karriere wurde. W\u00fcrde man eine Liste der besten Songs f\u00fcr Sport und Fitness anlegen, jede Wette, es bef\u00e4nde sich mindestens einer aus der Rocky-Reihe darunter. Allen voran der weltber\u00fchmte Rocky-Theme \u201eGonna fly now\u201c von Bill Conti. Wer danach noch still sitzen kann, dem k\u00f6nnen auch wir nicht mehr helfen…<\/p>\n
